Children’s Residential Support Worker

Salary: £28,598 – £35,413 per annum (pay award pending)

Key Responsibilities
- Take on the role of a corporate parent, providing love and direction to children and young people.
- Build meaningful relationships with children and young people who have had complex early lives.
- Take immediate action when the welfare or safety of a child or young person is at risk.
- Ensure that the wishes, thoughts, and feelings of children and young people are advocated.
- Deliver high‑quality support and guidance to promote the best outcomes for children in placement.
- Support the Homes Manager to exceed expectations at Inspection and Regulation 44 visits, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Be flexible and willing to participate in activities with children and young people and attend appointments.
Candidate Requirements
- Professional qualification in QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it within statutory timescales.
- Ability to engage with children and teenagers who have complex emotional needs.
- Desirable: 2 years’ experience in social care.
- Ability to work required shift patterns including weekends, overnights, late shifts and bank holidays.
