Position: Fostering Support Worker (Priority candidates considered first)
Location: Life Centre South, Wigan
Salary: Grade 6, £29,540 – £32,597 per annum.
Hours: 37 hours per week.
Work Pattern: flexible; may include working from home, the office, or the community.
Responsibilities
- Support kinship foster carers and prospective special guardians, helping children remain in safe family or friends networks.
- Prioritise safeguarding, stability, and regulatory compliance.
- Assess and communicate with carers, building robust relationships.
- Collaborate with supervising social workers and other team members.
- Innovate solutions to improve children’s experience and outcomes.
- Participate in continuous service commitment initiatives.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work independently, using initiative, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and best practice.
- Availability for Enhanced Disclosure Procedures and child and adult barred list checks.
