Electronics Assembly Technician

Location: Colchester (Fully On-Site)Contract: Initial 2-Month ContractRate: DOE (Outside IR35)Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pmStart Date: ASAP

We are seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician to join our team on an initial 2-month contract, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of bench‑based assembly tasks, supporting the build and manufacture of electronic components and subassemblies. This is a hands‑on role requiring attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to work accurately from instructions and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Bench work and light electronics assembly
• Basic to intermediate soldering of electronic components and wiring
• Cable fabrication, preparation, and termination
• Application of heat‑shrink tubing and insulation materials
• Adhesive application and bonding of small components
• Manual assembly of components and subassemblies
• Ensuring work is completed to quality and production standards

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in electronics assembly, wiring, or manufacturing environments
• Basic to intermediate soldering skills
• Experience with cable assembly and termination techniques
• Familiarity with heat-shrinking and insulation processes
• Excellent hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow assembly instructions
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
