Role: MDT Coordinator – Maternity Cover (2 WTE, Band 4)
Start date: 1 September 2026
Hours: 37.5 per week, flexible working available.
Role Overview
The Cancer MDT Coordination team requires two skilled administrators to support multidisciplinary teams by tracking patient pathways, managing national cancer waiting times datasets, and ensuring accurate disease registration.
Key Responsibilities
- Track every step of a suspected cancer pathway to ensure no patient is missed.
- Prepare and facilitate treatment planning meetings (MDTs), including live-typing outcomes.
- Escalate potential delays and share clinical information securely with partner hospitals.
- Navigate multiple clinical systems to maintain data integrity under tight weekly deadlines.
- Support Cancer Leads in delivering effective, well-structured MDTs.
- Ensure accurate and timely tracking of all required data for all cancer patients on the Somerset Cancer Register, meeting data standards for Cancer Waiting Times, National Cancer Audit requirements, and local SOPs.
- Handle all aspects of tracking patients to waiting time targets, escalating demand and capacity issues promptly at an early stage of the patient pathway.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adhered to, escalating any amendments to the Manager.

We are looking for conscientious individuals with a high level of attention to detail, who can absorb complex clinical information and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. You should be comfortable with high‑volume data entry and be proactive in managing patients across all tumour sites, whether working independently or as part of a team.
