Overview

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic/technician to support the preparation of the boat yard for arriving customers, ensuring boats are ready for the season.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Knowledge of marine diesel vessels, especially Nanni motors.
  • Responsible for technical interventions on pumps, batteries, diesel engines, electrical, propane, and hydraulic systems.
  • Install electrical, HVAC, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform minor fiberglass cosmetic repairs.
  • Maintain fleet standards in presentation and reliability.
  • Maintain maintenance schedule according to manufacturer warranties.
  • Control inventory of parts.
  • Instruct and educate clients during boat orientation and trail runs.
  • Provide boat briefings and training so customers feel confident.
  • Travel with company vehicles for emergency repairs or customer assistance off‑site.
  • Haul, launch, commission, and de‑commission fleet.
  • Operate gas dock procedures: watering, fuelling, pumping out tanks.
  • Ensure boats are in pristine condition for turnaround.
  • Support customers during their cruise with technical assistance and general information.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and flexibility to perform a wide range of duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a marine or boating technician.
  • Certification from a marine college or equivalent (advantage).
  • Ability to read specifications and installation instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
  • Passion for boating with relevant experience.
  • Team lead experience a bonus.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Fully eligible to work in the UK.

Working Hours

  • Summer season: Apr – Oct; operating Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat; off days Sun and a Tue or Thur.
  • Duty call‑out technician on rota, covering region as required.
  • Winter season: Nov – Mar; operating Mon – Fri; two weeks Christmas closure.
