Main Responsibilities

Help make every journey through our station an enjoyable one. This means providing top‑nought customer service, always following safety protocols, and making our stations clean and welcoming spaces.

Our station teams include a variety of roles – platforms, gatelines, ticket offices, general support, and Passenger Hosts on high‑speed services.

  • Make sure trains are dispatched safely and on time from our platforms.
  • Inspect tickets and help passengers get through gatelines.
  • Clean and tidy our stations.
  • Answer passenger questions and help them reach their destination.
  • Deal with lost property.
  • Sell tickets and promote rail activities.
  • Conduct regular safety and security checks.
  • Work a varied shift pattern, including weekends, bank holidays and nights.
  • Shifts may start as early as 5:30 am and may finish after the last train has departed.
  • At certain stations, you may also spend some shifts working alone.

Candidate residency requirement: Candidates must live within a 40‑minute commute of Tonbridge station without using public transport.

We’re looking for people from all backgrounds. All you need is:

  • A passion for making every passenger journey the best it can be.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Some customer service experience.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • The ability to work well in a team.
  • The ability to handle challenging situations effectively.

Given shift times, own transport is essential.
