From managing the upkeep of our stadium and training grounds to overseeing logistics for game days, we are committed to excellence in every detail.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated, hands‑on Facilities & Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities team at our training academy. This role is ideal for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and previous facilities or maintenance experience who is happy to get stuck in and support the wider organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of the academy
  • Plan and execute reactive maintenance across the site
  • Manage contractors and oversee compliance activities
  • Perform cleaning duties and general operational support
  • Oversee logistics for match days and other events
  • Maintain high standards across the site

Qualifications and Desirable Skills

  • Positive and hardworking attitude, reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable with hands‑on, physical work
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Organized, proactive and flexible mindsetExperience working within a commercial, education, leisure, or sporting setting
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and experience conducting compliance checks
  • Pool Plant Operator certification or willingness to obtain it
  • First Aid certification
  • IOSH Working Safely training

Requirements

  • An Enhanced DBS from Sunderland AFC is required.
