About the Organisation

Waythrough is a charity that delivers specialist support across mental health, alcohol, drugs and related areas. Aquarius, a subsidiary of Waythrough, is part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), partnering with the MPFT NHS Trust and Build on Belief to support alcohol and drug issues in Buckinghamshire.

Job Overview

We are looking for three Support Workers (Community Connectors– Assessment and Engagement Team) based in Aylesbury. You will provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans, undertake assessment and case management, and promote a client‑centred, diversity‑respecting approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, support, advocacy and key work for recovery plans.
  • Conduct elements of assessment and case management as directed.
  • Operate in a way that recognises and values diversity, and understands the functional model of substance use, the Recovery Agenda, and the problems caused by alcohol and drug misuse.
  • Maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements.
  • Work flexibly to deliver client‑centred services.

Qualifications

  • Preferably holds or is willing to gain an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care.
  • Experience working to policy and procedural requirements including child protection, vulnerable adults, confidentiality and health & safety.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and fulfil data requirements.
  • Commitment to a client‑centred approach and diversity values.
