Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Long-Term Role £92-£105 per day | Immediate / September Start

We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Bristol seeking a Pastoral Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a highly rewarding role focused on supporting students’ behaviour, wellbeing and emotional development, helping young people overcome barriers and re-engage with education.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

You will work closely with students who may:

  • Experience social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Struggle with behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Be disengaged from education or require additional support

Your focus will be on building strong relationships, promoting positive behaviour and supporting student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group pastoral support
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Build trusting relationships with students
  • De-escalate situations using calm and consistent approaches
  • Support attendance, engagement and daily routines
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
  • Promote positive behaviour and resilience

Some pupils may present behaviours that challenge — this role requires confidence, patience and strong interpersonal skills.
