Administrator to the School Nursing Team
We are looking to recruit a Band 3 School Nurse administrator, full time 37.5 hours per week, to join our compassionate and supportive team in Reading. You will need to be motivated, innovative, and willing to further develop your knowledge and skills within the NHS. We will ensure you receive dedicated, effective support from both your manager and colleagues within your team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Reading School Nursing team and provide high level of administrative and secretarial support to the members of the school nursing team as well as the health visiting teams. You will require excellent organisational skills, the ability to work in partnership with other teams and agencies, along with great communication, and a passion for working with children and families while being able to adapt to continuing change.

Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and RiO support to the team to ensure the most effective service delivery.
To manage the generic inbox and action emails as necessary.
To be able to prioritise own workload on a daily basis, working mainly without supervision and using own initiative.
To maintain efficient filing systems, undertaking secretarial/administrative duties including the typing of letters, reports, memoranda, faxes and postal duties.
To arrange team meetings, take minutes and ensure the agenda, previous minutes and any relevant documentation are distributed to team members.
To order stock and non-stock items under the direction of team members, using P2P if required.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
- Knowledge of a full range of secretarial procedures including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Educated to GCSE level C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Evidence of continuous professional development (e.g., European Driving Licence)
Previous Experience
- Willing to undertake further professional development as required
- Previous experience within the NHS
- Experience of working with children, young people and families
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Commitment and enthusiasm for working with children and young people
- Emotional resilience to work in a frequently stressful area of service delivery whilst maintaining a calm approach
