Job Description
Independent Living Support Worker – Level 2 (Supported Accommodation) | 10649 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £32,061 to £33,699 per annum | Grade G | Hub 1 Gurney Road, Norwich
In Norfolk we have exciting and ambitious plans to enhance the way we work with young people and their families. Our Supported Accommodation service works to create and promote a positive environment for each young person in the independent living scheme.
Responsibilities
- Support young people, helping them to develop positive and effective independent living skills.
- Contribute to making plans to support them and assist with their implementation, attending statutory reviews as required.
- Act as a positive role model and form effective relationships with young people and their families to meet emotional and physical needs and maximise development opportunities.
- Communicate clearly and engage with young people; plan and prioritise workload; develop new skills and learning.
- Support Team Managers, Assistant Team Managers and Senior Support Workers with management tasks such as inducting new staff, staff supervisions and completing relevant paperwork and documents.
- Hold a full driving licence and have daily access to a vehicle (necessary for this post).
- Evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins as required and be part of the on-call out of hours rota.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in Supported Accommodation or experience working with children (ideally).
- Good levels of literacy and numeracy.
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or a similar qualification.
