Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Clerical Assistant within our Business Support Service based at The Johnnie Walker Bond in Kilmarnock. This post will support the Ayrshire Community Blood Service Administration Team.

Hours

21.6 hours per week – working Monday, Thursday and Friday. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

What you will do

  • Provide comprehensive, community‑oriented administrative and clerical support to the Community Blood Service Administration Team.
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and callers, ensuring all enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently, providing a positive image, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in ensuring the flow of communication from a variety of sources, projecting a professional image for the function.
  • Work flexibly to cover staff absences and periods of particular pressure.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post

  • SVQ2 in Business / Administration or equivalent.
  • Working experience in a Health and/or Social Care environment.
  • Experience using and maintaining management information systems (MIS) including databases and spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
