Responsibilities
- Involvement in children’s participation events, coordinating group activities and supporting the team in preparing children and young people for foster care placements.
- Accurate record keeping of visits and one-to-one sessions.
- Promotion of the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Supporting recruitment and providing transport for children when required.
Requirements
- Flexible, proactive and able to communicate with children and adults.
- Experience working with children and young people; prior work within the fostering sector is desirable.
- No formal social work qualifications required, but an understanding and empathy for the work are essential.
- Valid driving licence and access to a car; ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to therapeutic training – therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers is preferred but not essential as training is provided.
- Good written and IT skills; ability to actively listen and work as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Right to work in the UK.
Hours
Full‑time role of 37 hours per week with flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work.
