Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in children’s participation events, coordinating group activities and supporting the team in preparing children and young people for foster care placements.
  • Accurate record keeping of visits and one-to-one sessions.
  • Promotion of the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Supporting recruitment and providing transport for children when required.

Requirements

  • Flexible, proactive and able to communicate with children and adults.
  • Experience working with children and young people; prior work within the fostering sector is desirable.
  • No formal social work qualifications required, but an understanding and empathy for the work are essential.
  • Valid driving licence and access to a car; ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to therapeutic training – therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers is preferred but not essential as training is provided.
  • Good written and IT skills; ability to actively listen and work as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Hours

Full‑time role of 37 hours per week with flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work.
