Job Overview
DSFS Ltd are looking for a Logistics Assistant to deliver high‑quality value‑for‑money procurement services for Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and external clients. The role requires strong team work, experience in a procurement or logistics environment, and excellent customer service and stock management skills.
This post ensures the procurement of the right goods at the right price, delivered to the right place at the right time. You will work with clients and service users to understand their procurement needs, standardise and rationalise products, and secure best‑value purchasing.

Main Duties
- Assist implementation and maintenance of a logistics and materials managed service.
- Work with sensitivity and an understanding of front‑line staff issues.
- Display DSFS core values.
- Listen to clients and engage in productive discussions about supply options.
- Provide specialist day‑to‑day logistics knowledge and advice to clients.
- Encourage users to utilise the materials management supply route and expand ward/department specific electronic catalogues.
- Influence user choice to standardise products and reduce costs.
- Resolve queries and complaints promptly and proactively.
- Work closely with procurement to support standardisation.
Qualifications and Training
- GCSE English Language and Maths grade C or above, or equivalent.
- ECDL.
Experience
- Experience within a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual handling duties.
- Knowledge of manual handling procedures and health and safety.
- Computerised systems experience for booking, ordering of goods and materials management (ECDL desirable).
- Experience in a stores or distribution environment with receipt, storage, and distribution procedures.
- Experience in an NHS environment.

Employment
Site: DSFS‑Chesterfield Royal Hospital Town, Chesterfield. Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 8 am–5 pm with flexibility). Very occasional paid weekend work.
Salary: £24,853 pro rata per annum.
