CARETAKER & MAINTENANCE WORKER

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, proactive and practical Caretaker & Maintenance Worker as part of our Trust’s Site Team. This position will be based at Cavendish School, Eastbourne.

Grade 4, Points 9‑10 (£25,185 – £25,583) + £895 allowance. Permanent contract with paid annual leave.

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, full time (52 weeks a year). Term‑time only; salary pro rata. Working pattern: Full‑time, Term‑time only. Closing date: 9am Monday 6 July 2026.

Working hours: early shift (6:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday; 6:30am – 2pm, Friday). May be subject to rota change at a future date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide site security, including opening and locking buildings, setting alarms, and conducting regular building checks.
  • Carry out maintenance tasks such as repairs, decorating and supporting contractor work.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance by performing regular checks, including meter reading and fire alarm testing.
