Technician Supervisor

What you will do

Our prestigious Chiltern Depot based in Dunstable is currently looking for a qualified HGV Technician Supervisor with excellent diagnostic and mechanical skills to work rotating shifts:

Working 44 hours Mon-Fri 06.00 to 16.00 and 12.00 – 22.00 (1 hr unpaid lunch break). Friday’s will be 1 hour less: 06.00‑15.00 and 12.00‑21.00. Saturday’s as required.

Pay: c£23.50 per hour and overtime at time and a half.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the shift technicians and co‑ordinate workload
• Liaise with the Workshop Manager regarding shift staff, training needs, KPIs etc.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles
• Servicing of vehicles to a high standard
• Participation in call out and breakdown rota – if/when required
• Use diagnostic equipment
• Carry out scheduled safety inspections and report any required rectifications
• Complete job cards clearly and accurately

Essential Qualifications and Knowledge

• Electrical and mechanical skills and experience
• Good understanding of H&S issues in a workshop environment
• Clean driving licence – HGV would be an advantage
• 25 days rising with service
