Overview
The Community Neonatal Service, based within Milton Keynes University Hospital, is a well established neonatal community team that facilitates a seamless transition of babies from hospital to their homes. The unit currently comprises 16 cots, of which 5 are intensive/high dependency and 11 are special care. The team seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Children’s trained nurse with Acute Neonatal and community-based experience to join a friendly and dynamic team attached to the local neonatal unit of the Thames Valley Network.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care of neonates from admission through to discharge.
- Coordinate care and discharge planning processes.
- Deliver evidence‑based, family‑centred care both in hospital and in patients’ homes.
- Support the transition of babies into the community and offer ongoing care for complex neonatal conditions such as chronic lung disease.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, role‑modelling and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Children’s trained nurse with Acute Neonatal and community-based experience.
- Competent in planning, implementing and assessing care of babies with complex neonatal conditions.
- Clean UK driving licence.
- Motivated to pursue continuing professional development and training opportunities.
