Learning Support Assistant

FTE Salary: Grade 4, Point 2: £29,025 (£25,327.23 pro rata*). Pro rata is based on 39 weeks and includes 5 inset days.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm – 36 hours per week.

Contract type: Term Time plus inset days.

Start date: September 2026.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).

Who should apply?

  • University students (including those on a gap year) seeking valuable school‑based experience.
  • Aspiring teachers who wish to begin their career in education as a TA before progressing into teaching.

Minimum Requirements

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to supporting pupils with a range of needs.

Desirable skills / training

  • Training in hearing and/or visual impairment.
  • Training in speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Training in social, emotional, and mental health.
  • Training in emotional literacy.
