Residential Support Worker – Development Programme
Full‑time, on‑site position in Durham County Council Children’s Homes Service.
Overview
12‑month development opportunity to work directly in our children’s homes, providing care, support, and engaging activities. Build skills as part of a multi‑agency team.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and support to children and young people.
- Engage in activities and build positive relationships with residents.
- Safeguard and support children within a multi‑agency environment.
- Participate in shift patterns, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and sleep‑in duties.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 22 years of age.
- Current driving licence and access to a car (mobility support available for disabled applicants).
- Commitment to completing the Sector‑Based Academy Programme within required timescales.
- Level2 Maths and English qualifications (or working toward them).
- Progress toward Level3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
- Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure (including Children’s Barred List).
- Resilience and positive role‑model behaviour.
