Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Concrete Plant Operative to join our team. In this hands‑on role, you will support the safe and efficient production of ready‑mixed concrete, operating plant equipment and ensuring materials are produced to the required standards. You will work as part of a team, following strict health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor concrete plant equipment to ensure efficient production
  • Carry out digging out and cleaning of the mixer and plant areas as required
  • Receive, check, and manage raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and additives
  • Carry out routine plant checks and basic maintenance tasks
  • Ensure concrete mixes meet required specifications and quality standards
  • Load and dispatch ready‑mixed concrete safely and accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment, including housekeeping of mixer and surrounding areas
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and site rules
  • Report faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Previous experience in a concrete plant, quarry, construction, or similar industrial environment (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn plant and machinery operations
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to carry out physically demanding work, including manual handling and cleaning tasks
  • Basic mechanical awareness for routine checks and minor maintenance
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
