Maintenance technician – Carpenter

To work as a maintenance technician for Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust, carrying out a skilled function for the building/fabric trades on buildings within their level of professional competence.
The post holder will also have the ability to maintain services and repairs to a full range of estates equipment within a defined area such as fire doors, anti-barricade doors and window restrictors. The work will be both routine and/or non-routine in nature, requiring the post holder to be flexible, adaptable and proactive to provide a customer focused service.
Main duties of the job
- Complete allocated reactive tasks as required
- Ensure all PPM and routine maintenance requirements are fulfilled
- Carry out building surveys and inspections of various services
- Advise on material, equipment and systems
- Maintain building and site service records
- Highlight Health & Safety issues relating to building, mechanical control and electrical issues
- Carry out investigation and testing on fire alarm and security systems
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers where necessary

Job responsibilities
In addition, the post holder will participate in the on-call rota to assist in emergency tasks such as fire alarms, heating failures, blocked drains and gritting of roads etc.
All work will be carried out to a high standard in terms of workmanship, quality, efficiency and health & safety.
The post holder will report on a day-to-day basis to the Team Leader, through to the Estates Officer and ultimately to the Head of Estates.
Qualifications
- Good General education eg, GCSE English and Maths
- Carpentry Level 3 or equivalent
Knowledge and skills
- Demonstrable good Carpentry skills and experiences
- Must be able and willing to work on and maintain a wide range of building services plant and equipment
- Must be able to remain focused, deal with interruptions and resume the task in hand without loss of efficiency
- Must be able to approach and action their work in a methodical and logical order
- Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure to tight deadlines
Experience
- Must have experience of working in a busy maintenance organisation and understand the requirements within a care environment
- Must have experience using carpentry tools and equipment.
