Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Transport Support Operator to join our Telford Transport team on a full time permanent basis!
This position is responsible for debriefing drivers on a daily basis alongside providing general administration support to the Transport team.
Salary: £27,119 per annum, plus £1,000 attendance bonus.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 6pm-6am.
Key Duties of a Transport Support Operator
- Correctly debriefing drivers.
- Checking all timesheets for correct completion and ensuring all PODs are returned completed correctly.
- Scanning and storing PODs using Culina’s document management system.
- Preparing drivers’ wallets and issuing delivery notes in drop sequence plus any other relevant delivery information.
- Printing all despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as required.
- Answering the telephone and assisting with any enquiries.
- Downloading drivers’ cards / tachographs.
- Ensuring all estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) are communicated to Customer Services.
- Consistently updating all spreadsheets including, but not limited to, change-overs, run summaries and trailer check sheets.
- Departing loads using Transport Management System (TMS).
- Ensuring all uplifts are despatched in correct loads.
Qualifications
- Attention to detail / accuracy.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Positive and adaptable attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
- Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office e.g. PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
