Compensation & Benefits
Salary: £37,619.40 per annum (£18.55 per hour) plus Veolia benefits.
Overtime: Weekdays paid at 1.5×, Saturdays at 1.5×, Sundays at 2.0×. Voluntary overtime may earn up to £1,000 per month based on an average of 40 hours overtime per month.
Sign‑On Bonus: £750 after 1 month of employment and another £750 after 12 months.
Hours: 39hours per week, Monday‑Friday 06:00‑14:18.
Leave: 25 days of annual leave. One paid day leave each year to volunteer and support the community.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive 26‑tonne collection vehicles on a planned route.
- Assist with loading bins and containers when required.
- Complete daily vehicle checks as per the driver operator handbook.
- Use onboard technology to complete work notes.
- Comply with all traffic laws and legislation, including security and weight of loads.
- Ensure the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: Valid UK Class2 licence, up‑to‑date CPC or DIGI card.
- A can‑do attitude and good time‑management skills.
- Team‑player mindset to ensure collections run smoothly.
- Desirable: Previous Class2 driving experience.
- Desirable: Previous experience in the waste industry.
- Desirable: Rear‑steering experience/understanding.
Interview Process
Candidates may be asked to complete a driving assessment on the interview day. Applicants with more than 6 points on their licence, or who hold DR10 or DG10 points, will not be suitable for the role. Candidates must bring right‑to‑work documents (e.g., birth certificate, passport, ID, settled status) and driving documents (UK driving licence, Class2 licence, CPC, tacho card).
