Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Our client are specialists in their market sector, they have opening for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their energetic maintenance team on a permanent basis.

This role will be working a shift system rotating between days and nights.

Job responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment.
• Rapid response to breakdowns on production equipment.
• Diagnostic and repair or replace of control devices such as motors, contactors and control gear, sensors etc.
• Cover both pre-planned and reactive maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Use initiative to improve and develop equipment and processes.
• Support continuous improvement using ISO 9001, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Time served Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
• Previous experience with electrical maintenance and or hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics.
• Familiar with fast-moving industrial manufacturing environment and willing to work shifts and occasional weekends.
• Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment (beneficial).
• Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
• Participate in plant health & safety and environmental programs.
• Work to PPM schedules and record results.
• Exposure to 6 Sigma and Lean Techniques.
