Hospital Support Assistant – Concourse

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player to join us in a busy, fast‑paced hospital environment.
As a Hospital Support Assistant you will support the cleanliness of our Concourse area, an area where first impressions count.
You will work 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, and may be required to work anywhere within the hospital. This is a contracted position working 6 hours per week, covering 365 days per year including weekends, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a mandatory four‑week training period.
Main duties of the job
- Support all cleaning and catering duties within the hospital.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene in accordance with the Trust’s Standards of Cleanliness and Food Safety Legislation.
- Work directly with team members, patients and visitors, providing a safe and effective service.
Person Specification
Education and Qualification
- GCSE Maths and English.
- Food safety awareness training or willingness to undertake induction and on‑the‑job training to meet food safety standards.
- Previous experience of cleaning or catering within the NHS.
- Previous experience of working with customers.
Occupational Experience
- General experience of cleaning or catering duties.
- Passion to work within the NHS.
- Experience of working effectively within a team.
- Experience of an NHS environment or care setting.
- Experience of cleaning.
- Experience of catering.
