Since 1942, we have delivered exceptional aviation solutions for light aircraft to commercial airliners and developed a reputation for innovation and excellence. We are now looking for a Maintenance Operative to join our growing team based in Consett, County Durham. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Maintenance Technician in carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure machinery, buildings, facilities and equipment are kept in safe, functional and efficient working order.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machines, buildings and equipment
- Conducting regular inspections to identify and address mechanical and maintenance issues
- Carrying out basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks
- Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers
Qualifications
- A time served mechanical background
- Knowledge of multiple trades (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and decorating) and the ability to work with various materials including wood and metal
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Ability to work with limited supervision and manage own workload
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
