We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Hospice Neighbours Coordinator to lead and develop our HospiceNeighbours programme. This rewarding role plays an important part in supporting our wellbeing services and strengthening connections within the local community.

You will coordinate and grow our valued team of volunteers, promote the programme externally, and work closely with colleagues across the hospice to ensure a high‑quality, meaningful service.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and coordinate the Hospice Neighbours programme

  • Work collaboratively with clinical teams and colleagues across the hospice
  • Build and maintain relationships with external organisations
  • Manage programme data, records and systems accurately
  • Support the wider Living Well programme when required
  • Represent Oakhaven Hospice professionally in the community

Oakhaven Hospice serves the community of the New Forest, providing in‑patient, day hospice and community care for patients with life‑limiting illnesses and support to their families/carers. Job responsibilities

Hours 22.5 hours per week, predominantly home‑based with on‑site attendance required as needed.

Salary £16,381 per annum

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organised with strong administrative skills

A strong communicator with a positive, approachable style

Able to work independently and manage competing priorities

Experienced in working with service users, ideally within healthcare or a charitable setting

Passionate about supporting volunteers and making a difference in the community.

You will also bring a compassionate, resilient and proactive approach, along with a genuine commitment to our values.

Qualifications and experience

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Level 2)
  • Experience working with volunteers and/or in a healthcare or charity environment is desirable

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • A good level of formal education including GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English is essential (Level 2)
  • Training will be given as necessary ability to adapt to new tasks and eager to learn.

Experience

  • Evidence of dealing directly with service users
  • Evidence of working for a healthcare provider or charitable organisation

Skills and Knowledge

  • Evidence of strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Fully IT literate including Microsoft Office
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision and under pressure at times
