The role
As a Vehicle Maintenance Operative, the role involves maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support to the contract in a dynamic high‑impact environment.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
- Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle‑specific standards, following authorised procedures where training is provided.
- Conduct preparatory tasks, including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling.
- Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.
- Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required.
- Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off‑road, day and night.
Essential experience
- Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits.
- Manual handling and physical working capability.
- Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Full manual UK Driving Licence.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within the company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Eligibility for certain roles may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency held.
