Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities

• Carry out first‑response to reactive maintenance jobs such as ventilation grille cleans, light cleans, toilet unblocking and meter readings in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.
• Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during night shift, acting as the initial point of contact, assess the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate team member and complete necessary documentation. Ensure all records are handed over to the Helpdesk team at the start of their shift.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks across the site, covering various building services, following the PPM programme and maintaining personal competence and training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems and domestic hot and cold‑water systems.
• Desirable: prior experience in a healthcare maintenance environment.

Additional requirements

• Unable to offer a relocation package.
• Evidence of right to work in the UK is required.
• DBS Standard check is mandatory; ability to pass is essential.
