Requirements
- Previous experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 3 years.
- Valid references from these roles.
- Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service.
Role
The Residential Children Support Worker role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as autism, PMLD, MLD, and social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work within group and 1:1 settings with a range of ages and levels of learning.
Your daily routine includes continuously adapting activities and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible, ensuring they are not displaying any triggers or signs of unease.
Key attributes for success include a nurturing, patient, and empathetic attitude.
The school is a SEND setting supported by public transport and ample car parking. It provides a diverse group of pupils with complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviours. Staff with additional experience and training may progress to full‑time or supply support positions.
