Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN Primary School in Manchester that is seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join their team from September.

The Role

As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils throughout the school day. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help children access learning, develop social and communication skills, and build confidence both academically and emotionally.

You may support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small intervention groups, or within the classroom, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group activities
  • Promote communication, independence, and social development
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
