Digital Content, Communications and Engagement Apprentice – Level 3
We’re looking for someone who enjoys storytelling through digital content—including writing, social media, photography, video and other creative formats—and wants to turn that passion into a career.
What you’ll do at work
- Support the planning and delivery of communications, engagement activities and marketing campaigns.
- Interpret briefs, brand guidelines and campaign objectives to develop effective content plans.
- Conduct audience research and analyse insights to guide content and campaign decisions.
- Create, source and edit engaging written, visual and audio content across a range of channels.
- Proofread and quality‑check content to ensure accuracy, accessibility and alignment with brand standards.
- Maintain and manage content securely using approved systems and tools.
- Provide administrative support, including organising meetings, maintaining records and coordinating team activities.
Training
- Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
- Evaluate brand requirements and guidelines.
- Prepare mood boards and visual aids for content creation.
- Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content.
- Storyboard and outline scripts for content.
- Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
- Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
- Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
- Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
- Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
- Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; adapt and edit using industry standard packages.
- Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content.
- Identify and recommend appropriate platforms or channels for media campaigns.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
- Engage and respond with audiences through social media and adapt content to evolving circumstances.
- Monitor user experience to maximise engagement.
- Analyse audience segmentation and data to tailor content.
- Use lessons learned to evaluate success and improve future campaigns.
- Plan continuing professional development to support current and future training needs.
- Operate effectively within production workflow to meet timelines.
Requirements
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English.
- Experienced in the use of IT such as e‑mail, Word, Excel and social media platforms.
- Ability to attend Cornwall College, Camborne for college sessions.
- Commitment to completing a Level 3 Content Creator Apprenticeship and continuing personal development.
