What is the job role?
The role involves providing transport for vulnerable people across Coventry, including handling large wheelchairs and supporting passengers with SEN or disability. The service is delivered on a split shift basis: 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, 4 hours per day, for a total of 20 hours per week during term time only.
Responsibilities
- Drive the allocated minibus vehicle safely and securely.
- Drop off and pick up service users at their designated destinations.
- Ensure safety by taking reasonable steps to prevent harm to users and others.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Maintain punctuality, reliability and adaptability to shift changes.
Who are we looking for?
Applicants should demonstrate professionalism, a strong work ethic and a patient, respectful attitude toward clients, particularly SEN children and vulnerable adults. Key attributes include:
- Respect and dignity for all clients.
- Flexibility to work on the rota and during standard working hours.
- Discretion, calmness and resilience in dealing with challenging behaviours.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not offered.
- Valid driving qualification and clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a DBS check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
- Availability for the specified split shift and term‑time schedule.
