Job Summary
Lineage is the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions. We are recruiting a HGV Class 1 Driver for our Gillingham depot.
Shift Pattern
Monday – Friday, daytime. Hours up to 39 per week at £16.19 per hour; overtime paid time and a half.
Responsibilities
- Support and assist Transport Managers to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure vehicle is always legal and roadworthy, completing daily checks per the Daily Vehicle Check Sheet and Guide to maintaining road worthiness.
- Report vehicle defects promptly.
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries safely and timely.
- Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs.
- Drive vehicle safely, following traffic law and driver hour limits.
- Securely load goods and verify before departure.
- Check goods off with customers, obtain signature and print.
- Follow vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and notify Transport Manager if needed.
- Maintain DCPC periodic training hours within five-year period.
Qualifications
- At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience and valid Class 1 licence.
- Full valid driving licence, Digi‑Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.
- Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations.
- Comfortable working night shifts.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Numerical accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate tail lift and PPT when required.
