As a Year 7 Transition Teacher, you will play a key role in easing the transition for students as they move from primary to secondary school. You will work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports academic and personal development.
The school in the Bierton area works closely with students to ensure they are working toward the academic targets set out for them. It is a “Good” school and consistently looks to improve, which is evident in the culture of the school.
Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Year 7 students
- Providing pastoral care and support to help students adjust to the challenges of secondary school life
- Collaborating with primary and secondary school staff to ensure a smooth transition process
- Monitoring student progress and implementing interventions where necessary to support their academic and social‑emotional growth
- Organising transition events and activities to familiarise students with their new school environment
Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with Year 7 students or in a transition role is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
