Location: Tameside Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Monday to Friday) Rate: £95 – £119 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism and ADHD
  • Support emotional regulation, concentration, and classroom engagement
  • Implement structured routines and visual support strategies
  • Adapt learning activities to promote independence and understanding
  • Use positive behaviour management and reinforcement techniques
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team

The successful candidate will understand that behaviour is often a form of communication and will be confident using a calm, patient, and proactive approach.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of Autism and ADHD
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
