Join Stellar Grove as a Teaching Assistant and help create a safe, supportive environment where every learner can thrive. This is a fixed‑term, term‑time only role until 31 August 2027. The position is part‑time, 15 hours per week.
About the team
The Virtual School works with a multi‑disciplinary team including SEND, schools, colleges, businesses, universities, social workers, personal advisors, parents, guardians and foster carers to support children and young people through school and onto further education, employment or training.
Key responsibilities
- You will assist in developing and maintaining the highest standards of functional skills teaching and learning for identified children and young people who attend tuition at Stellar Grove.
- You will provide one‑to‑one support to students as required, including those with an EHCP, focusing on building trust and relationships.
- You will help students manage stress and anxiety in and outside the classroom, providing co‑regulation and reflective learning opportunities to enable them to fully participate in learning.
- You will update Stellar Grove tracking documents, ensuring detailed and accurate records are maintained for the children and young people attending sessions.
- You will keep up‑to‑date with relevant legislation, e.g., after school clubs, community activities and tuition safeguarding guidance for providers.
Qualifications
You will have recent experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs using a range of behaviour support strategies. You will have experience supporting students with general and specific learning difficulties, including those who are neurodiverse, and a sound understanding of child development and learning processes. Strong organisational skills and a proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines are essential.

Salary: £9,278 – £10,512 per year for 15 hours per week, 39 weeks term‑time only, inclusive of London Weighting (FTE for TTO: £22,885 – £25,930 per year inclusive of London Weighting)
