Hours:32.5 hours per week, 8.30am-3.30pm

Our opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and committed Teaching Assistant to work at Long Marston CE Primary School within our EYFS/KS1 class. Our Teaching Assistants play an important part in our village schools’ lives and make an invaluable contribution to our close teams. You will work with teachers to motivate, inspire and support our children to develop a love of learning and achieve their potential. As HLTA, you will support the delivery of teaching and learning within the classroom, including delivering small group work with KS1 or supporting high quality interactions within EYFS.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • The ability to motivate and encourage children, providing reassurance and help with learning tasks;
  • A positive, nurturing and calm approach to all children and all behaviours, supporting children with their emotional wellbeing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with children, staff and other members of the wider school community;
  • The ability to work proactively and flexibly as part of our committed team;
  • A positive attitude and outlook.

The successful candidate must hold English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent. It is required for candidates to have HLTA status or a relevant NVQ level 4 or foundation degree.

We have a robust Child Protection Policy and all staff will receive training relevant to their role at induction and throughout employment at the school. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service criminal records check for work with children. Contracts for all new staff are to the federation, providing greater opportunities for continuing professional development for all staff.
