Salary: Up to £41,937 pro rata, depending on experience.
Hours: 17.5 – 35 per week.
Working Weeks: Full Year.

The Exciting Role
A new opportunity is available for an A Level Politics teacher on a 0.5 basis with the possibility of progressing to full time (1FTE) for the right candidate who can also teach Business, Economics, or Geography. Join our high‑performing A Level team in a college that has a long track record of outstanding results.
We seek an enthusiastic and knowledgeable politics teacher to deliver outstanding teaching and learning in a supportive, collaborative, and forward‑thinking department. The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson but may be required to travel across sites.
What You Will Be Doing
- Plan, deliver, and assess high quality teaching and learning across A Level Politics (ability to teach a second subject is advantageous).
- Provide effective academic and pastoral support to learners, supporting them throughout their educational journey.
- Ensure all learners progress from their starting points through effective assessment and targeted intervention.
- Develop learners’ wider knowledge, skills and behaviours to support their progression to higher education or employment.
- Enrich learners’ cultural capital by contributing to a broad range of extra‑curricular activities, including educational visits, guest speakers and other enrichment opportunities.

- A passionate, knowledgeable and committed politics specialist with the ability to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and support.
- Experience delivering A Level programmes, particularly within politics.
