About You
You are someone who prefers working on site rather than behind a desk, and you thrive in construction, demolition or industrial settings. Early starts, travel and changing locations do not deter you; you enjoy variety and the purpose that comes with hands‑on work. You take safety seriously, follow procedures without cutting corners, and remain calm and focused in regulated environments.
You learn best by doing, and routine does not bother you – it is part of building consistency. You are comfortable using equipment and working in PPE or RPE for extended periods when required. You can work independently once trained, taking responsibility for your tasks, while also communicating clearly with teammates and supervisors to ensure safe and correct completion of work.
You are motivated by work that matters – contributing to environmental safety, compliance and public health protection. You value clear expectations, stability and progression, and you are interested in building a long‑term career with the potential to advance to roles such as surveyor or analyst.
Please note: You must be 18 or over due to the nature of the working environment.
Please note: A full UK manual driving licence is required for this role; more than 3 points on your licence will need to be reviewed.
Apprenticeship Eligibility

What your training will look like
You will follow a structured programme combining live sessions, online learning and hands‑on workplace training. Over 12 months you will spend at least 6 hours per week on off‑the‑job training, including virtual learning, practical activities and applied assignments. You will work towards the RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures.
What could your future look like
This apprenticeship will provide the skills and experience required to start a career as an asbestos site technician and progress within the asbestos management industry. You will develop competence to carry out asbestos surveys, air monitoring and clearance testing in line with regulatory requirements, contributing to protecting people, property and the wider environment. The programme can lead to professional recognition such as becoming a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) and can open opportunities to specialise within asbestos surveying, air monitoring and related technical roles.
