Salary
Starting salary: £37,875 per 39 hour week (incl 20% unsocial)**Includes additional allowances applicable to the role.
Responsibilities
- Protect the public and help make an impact on prisoners’ lives.
- Operate in a 24/7 environment, covering various shift patterns including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Perform duties such as peacekeeping, counselling and teaching activities.
- Maintain professional relationships with prisoners and support colleagues to keep the prison and everyone safe.
Eligibility
- At least 18 years old at commencement of employment.
- Meet civil service nationality requirements.
- Pass medical and fitness assessment, including eyesight, hearing and health screening.
- For a category A prison, have resided in the UK for the last 3 years.
- Meet the eyesight and hearing standards described.
- Have the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom.
