Driver/Passenger Attendant

Role Overview

It supports the Supported Transport Service Management Team in delivering the Home to School Transport and Social Care transport network, providing transport for around 300 children with special needs and vulnerable adults, and operating the Oxfordshire Comet Service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and motivate the team through efficient and effective management of services, staff, and resources.
• Undertake HR processes within the team, including onboarding, induction, one‑to‑one/12.3.2 meetings, and investigations.
• Use performance management processes to embed a culture of continuous improvement and achieve required service standards.
• Assist in the management of the front line and operational delivery of Fleet Services in collaboration with Area and Operational Depot Managers.
• Work with residents, staff, partners, and suppliers to ensure consistent delivery of outcomes using appropriate skills and methods.
• Drive continuous improvement, analysing evidence to inform plans, manage risks, and ensure effective services for local people.

Qualifications and Requirements

• No formal qualifications are required; management experience or qualifications are desirable.
• Must hold a full driving licence with D, D1, or D1 101.
• Ability to handle challenging situations and work with people with learning or physical disabilities.
• Successful candidates will undertake a management training programme and disability awareness and safeguarding training.
