Senior Care Assistant

Senior Care Assistant required for Loughborough, Shepshed, Hathern, Long Whatton, East Leake, Coalville and surrounding areas.

Salary: £9.50 per hour | 14.25 Bank Holidays + paid mileage + 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata) + QCF training + free uniform.

This job involves traveling from home to home, so you must have access to a vehicle.

The hours are flexible as care is provided at various times of the day, seven days a week.

Responsibilities

• Take part in the out of hours emergency on‑call rota as and when required; effectively deal with emergency on‑call issues; cover calls directly or indirectly when a care assistant calls in sick or is absent; keep a record of emergency calls and report to the office the next day.
• Be able to motivate and lead others in a care setting.
• Encourage residents to have the highest quality of life.
• Promote independence and choice in their life.
• Respect and accept residents’ social, emotional, sexual, religious, cultural, and political needs.
• Experience of writing care plans and risk assessments is advantageous.
• Shadow new care workers in the field to ensure their competence.
• Help residents with their daily lives such as assisting with eating and drinking, personal hygiene, recreational activities, and accompanying residents outside of the home.
