A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Chaplain in the department of spiritual care which provides pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious support to patients, staff and visitors within the Trust, with a particular focus on caring for and advising on the needs of our Jewish community.
Main duties of the job
Provide spiritual care and support to patients, staff and visitors, delivering services that reflect a deep-rooted faith or belief tradition while also offering care to individuals of other traditions. Maintain appropriate faith/belief training, specialised knowledge of the own faith/belief community traditions, and support other faith groups. Work as part of a team delivering model of support where spiritual care is available to everyone.

Experience / Knowledge
- Demonstrable experience of providing chaplaincy in a healthcare setting
- Specialised experience of providing own faith community rites and rituals, especially for the seriously ill, dying and those at end of life
- Experience of facilitating reflective practice
- In-depth knowledge of own faith/belief community religious traditions
- Knowledge and experience of other traditions and faith/belief communities
- Understanding of confidentiality issues within the workplace
- Knowledge of ethical issues relating to healthcare
- Experience of training others
