Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to progress your career, or an established HLTA seeking a new challenge?
We are working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Watford that are looking for confident, enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning across the school.
This is a rewarding and varied role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to help raise attainment, support pupil progress and contribute to a positive learning environment. The role may involve leading whole-class lessons in the teacher’s absence, delivering targeted intervention programmes, supporting pupils with additional needs and helping to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes when required
- Leading small group and one-to-one intervention sessions
- Supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Working collaboratively with teachers to plan and assess learning
- Helping to create an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment
- Supporting children with varying abilities and learning needs
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds HLTA status or has significant classroom support experience
- Has strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
- Is confident managing a classroom independently
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Can motivate and inspire children to achieve their best
- Is flexible, proactive and able to use their initiative
- Has a genuine passion for education and child development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
