Are you a dedicated and proactive Male SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a full‑time role in Harrow? A specialist SEN provision in Harrow is seeking a reliable Male SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team with an immediate start available. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with post‑16 learners.
This position involves working with students with special educational needs to build confidence, life skills, and greater autonomy for adult life. The assistant will work closely with learners to help them progress academically, socially, and practically within a structured environment.
Job Role & Key Duties (Harrow)
- Assist post‑16 learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Help learners develop life skills for adult life
- Deliver practical learning activities including travel training, budgeting, cooking, shopping, and daily living tasks
- Encourage communication, confidence, and positive interaction
- Assist classroom learning and off‑site community activities
- Manage behaviour and guide learners in positive routines
- Work alongside teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
- Track learner progress and contribute to development plans
- Create a structured and safe learning environment
The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, proactive, and dedicated to making a real difference. Experience in SEN, education, care, or youth settings is desirable.
