Long Term Futures are proud to be working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school near the Washwood Heath area, seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Year 5 and Year 6 from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident TA with strong Upper KS2 experience who is passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential during a pivotal stage of their education. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting academic progress, preparing pupils for SATs, and building confidence as they transition towards secondary school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support across Year 5 and Year 6, ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused during lessons.
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions in Reading, Maths, Writing and SPaG to support attainment and accelerate progress.
  • Work closely with pupils preparing for SATs, reinforcing key learning objectives and exam techniques.
  • Support small groups and individual learners who require additional academic support.
  • Monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and adapting support where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage a productive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, helping to develop confidence, resilience and independence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working within Upper Key Stage 2.
  • Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs expectations.
  • Experience delivering academic interventions and booster sessions.
  • Confident supporting pupils across a range of attainment levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed.
