Overview

Rock and Pop Music Teacher – Edmonton

Department: Band Leaders

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Greater London

Compensation: £30,000 – £35,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Teach groups of primary-age children in a fun, inspiring rock and pop band format in up to 10 schools per week.
  • Teach instruments including drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals to provide first opportunities for students to learn.
  • Work independently as part of a remote team of band leaders with support from central teams.
  • Support live performances at end-of-term concerts and act as a positive role model for children in primary schools.
  • Help children develop self-belief, resilience and wellbeing through performing in a band.
  • Represent Rocksteady, building relationships with schools, teachers and parents.
  • Be prepared for highly active days and travel between schools, loading and unloading equipment and setting up and packing away in locations.

Requirements

  • Competent on at least two of the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, vocals.
  • Willingness to learn how to teach band lessons and complete the training programme before timetable start.
  • Resilience to manage a role with moments of challenge and achievement in the same day.
  • Confident, authentic communication with children, teachers and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Organised, independent worker with good time management and administration skills.
  • UK/EU driving licence and own transport to travel between schools and transport equipment.
