Role Overview
This permanent position involves leading the mechanical maintenance of a fleet of Mercedes‑Benz Sprinters, Vitos, and Volkswagen Transporters across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance inspections and repairs in accordance with company and DVSA standards
- Advanced diagnosis of mechanical, electrical and CAN‑bus related faults using manufacturer‑level diagnostic equipment
- Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT testing
- Investigating recurring defects and implementing long‑term solutions
- Completing accurate maintenance records and workshop documentation
- Ordering parts and managing repairs in accordance with company procedures
- Attending vehicle breakdowns (rare) and providing technical support where required
- Road testing vehicles to verify faults and confirm repair quality
- Assisting with the development of workshop procedures and maintenance standards
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced technicians where appropriate
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and company policies
Candidate Requirements – Essential
- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining light commercial vehicles
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience working on Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter vehicles or similar LCV platforms
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and maintain high standards
Candidate Requirements – Highly Desirable
- Mercedes‑Benz, Volkswagen or manufacturer Master Technician accreditation
- IRTEC qualification
- MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 and/or 7)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Experience maintaining fleet vehicles

Hours
Full‑time position, 40‑45 hours per week not including breaks.
