Class 1 Night Driver

Job Description

Start date: TBC based on registration with agency

Job Role / Description:

• Temporary drivers needed to cover weekday night shifts for a well‑known retail distribution specialist.
• Drivers must complete a site induction before commencing work.
• All goods delivered are chilled or frozen.
• Preferred experience handling refrigerated trailers.
• Required to make 2‑6 store deliveries per shift.
• Drivers will manually unload deliveries at retail stores, moving delivery cages off the trailer to the warehouse attendant.
• Start times vary according to delivery slots and runs available.
• Vehicles provided are in good condition.

Requirements:

• Competent in Health & Safety practices and procedures at all times.
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
• Flexible, “can do” attitude.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).
• Keep vehicle clean and tidy.
• Excellent geographic knowledge of UK road network.
• Positive attitude and professional work ethic.
• Smart appearance, representing Freeway Recruitment & the client.

Qualifications / Training / Experience:

• Valid Class 1 (HGV C+E) driving licence.
• Valid Digital tachograph card.
• Valid Driver CPC card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (no DR/DD/IN driving offences).

Pay:

• £15.00 per hour basic (Paye, Holiday pay accrued) / £15.50 overtime after 8 hours worked.
• £15.50 per hour basic (Ltd Co or Umbrella) / £16.50 per hour overtime after 8 hours worked.
